INNOCEAN Worldwide received two awards at International Forum Design Awards, one of the world’s three major design awards, on March 10 in Munich, Germany. INNOCEAN Seoul HQ was appointed winners in Interior Architecture and Communications Categories at iF Awards for LG Electronics’ “LG Signature Gallery.” “LG Signature Gallery,” a premium exhibition booth showcased at IFA Berlin, the most recognized international consumer electronics convention in Europe, in 2016, was acclaimed for presenting unique contents that expressed LG’s brand philosophy by combining art, technology and architecture. The Gallery was also praised for employing an innovative storytelling approach at IFA, an event that primarily focuses on product display. “LG Signature Gallery” was INNOCEAN’s first ever IFA project and was spearheaded by Seoul HQ’s Experience Creation Team. Unlike any other booths in IFA 2016, “LG Signature Gallery” was installed in a separate, 1,375m2 designated area in an outdoor garden within the IFA exhibition hall. The project did not stop at simply exhibiting products, but also provided hands-on contents for consumers, employing a minimalist design and cutting-edge technology, and was favorably received. The world famous iF Design Award, established in 1953, is one of the most heralded design awards along with IDEA and Red Dot. It examines products in 10 different areas including home appliances, computers, lighting fixtures and medicine, and evaluates 10 standards: practicality, safety, durability, ergonomic quality, originality, harmony with the environment, resource savings and recycling, visualization of their use and function, design quality, and sensory and intellectual stimulus. This year, a panel of more than 60 influential designers from around the world reviewed more than 5,500 entries from 59 countries. This year's iF Design Award ceremony took place at the BMW Welt Museum in Munich, Germany.
