INNOCEAN announced on the 24th that it held the awards ceremony for its representative social contribution initiative, the 'S.O.S (Social Problem Solver) Program,' at its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by CEO William Lee and a total of 13 winning teams (34 participants).
The S.O.S program is INNOCEAN’s flagship social contribution activity, offering work experience and scholarships to university students aspiring to become professional creators, while also proposing various solutions to timely social issues through its unique expertise in 'creativity.'
This year's S.O.S program, themed 'Ideas for a Better World in the AI Era,' invited submissions for ideas such as ▲innovative ways to enhance the lives of vulnerable groups through AI technology and ▲ideas for inclusive solutions in the AI era.
The grand prize went to a team of students, Sihyun Kim and Jiwoo Park from the Korea National University of Arts, who proposed an idea for a 'smart ATM that prevents financial crimes using AI technology,' specifically aimed at preventing voice phishing crimes. The idea received high praise for its timeliness and ingenuity, as it tackles the growing issue of vulnerable groups falling victim to financial crimes due to a lack of awareness and education on voice phishing. The proposed solution uses AI technology to predict potential victims and prevent incidents before they occur.
The grand prize winners will receive a cash award of 10 million won and will also have the opportunity to participate in IINNOCEAN 's experiential internship starting this December. During this period, they will receive creative know-how from expert mentors at INNOCEAN and take part in actual projects.
Additionally, two teams were awarded the gold prize: one led by student Shin Bee from Seoul Women's University and her team of three, and another led by Mijeong Im from Hanyang University and her teammate. Shin Bee's team proposed 'AI for Good: The Blur Mark,' a solution that uses AI to trace the distribution paths of deepfake images to prevent deepfake crimes. Mijeong Im's team designed an optimized route platform solution to ensure the safe return of dementia patients, receiving positive feedback. Each gold prize-winning team was awarded 5 million won.
Four teams won the silver prize, each receiving 2 million won, and six teams won the bronze prize, each receiving 500,000 won.
CEO William Lee said, "In an era of rapid technological advancement, it's meaningful to see so many university students with professional and innovative ideas participate in this year's S.O.S program, themed around AI-driven campaign ideas. We will continue to operate CSR programs that foster talented future marketing communication professionals while seeking innovative solutions to social problems."
